Hello there everybody!
Right now, you're all probably thinking 'my god, she's finally deigned to update her lj ... wait a minute, just who is she again?'
::laughs:: Obviously, it's been a long time since I've been on here, and an even longer time for people not on my flist who never saw any of my RL whingeing posts, lol.
Anyway, long story cut short: 2007 was probably the worst year of my life. I lost family members I deeply cared about ... broke my foot for the second time in a year ... and was struck down for nine months by glandular fever. Needless to say, I wasn't really in the right mindset to post anything on here, which I really do apologise for. I've met some great people on here in the past few years, and unfortunately, I haven't been able to chat with any of you in quite some time.
I've only recently recovered from all the above mentioned events, and am determined to start 2008 off with a few changes in my life - both real and online life. My first online resolution for the year was to resume writing again, and to finish as many of my fics as I can. At the moment, I'm focusing mostly on To do the Unspeakable. I've even posted all the available chapters onto fanfiction.net and Schoogle to get back into the mood, and I believe that I'll be posting Chapter Six very shortly. My next resolution was to not drop off the face of the planet again. I will keep updating on here, whether it be posting new chapters, or progress updates on them.
Also, I've decided that I will be making this a friends only journal from now on, so only my stories will be public posts. It's a matter of privacy, as I really don't want real life to intrude on here.
Just lastly, if anyone is reading this, I want to wish everyone the best for the rest of 2008. May your dreams be fulfilled!

Wow ... time flies by really fast.
The beginning of this year has sprung quite a few new and different things upon me. There was namely, the record heat wave (I might have mentioned once that I do not function well in hot weather), sickness (yes, unfortunately, the theory of less stress did not mean that I would get better), and a few other things that I won't go into for fear of boring anyone. I probably have already, lol.
Just on a happy note though, my teenage self made a reappearance this week. One of my all time favourite bands, the Backstreet Boys (yes, I'm hearing the chuckles, please stop :P), came to Adelaide on Wednesday for their Australian 'Never Gone' tour. I of course went, and the concert was absolutely amazing, especially when Nick Carter jumped the barricades and stopped only metres in front of me, my screaming best friend, and her squealing sisters.
However, it was the next day that was even better. Early the next morning, my friend and I decided to wait for them at the airport - see if we could get a few autographs, take a few pictures with them and so forth. We could, and we did - excluding with Nick as he was rather cranky and snobby.
I'm sure that not many people are interested, but I'll probably be posting the pics up in the next few weeks or so. I still can't believe I have photos with them. Yay! And a cute lil BSB top too!
*Cough* As for my fics, I've almost finished with Chapter Five for TdtU. It's a bit shorter than the others, but there is more Harry/Draco interaction, which you'll all be happy to know. I'll try and get that done by Wednesday.
I don't have as much time as I would like to read how everyone is going, but I do hope that everyone on my flist is well and enjoying life as it is.

Er - hello *sheepish grin*
Now I know it's been since June that I last posted on here *faints*, but all I can say in my defence is that real life once again intervened.
Even though I have the most annoying habit of becoming very sick (constantly I might add too), I stupidly decided to take on a full time load for the second semester at uni. With the work I had piled on top of me from being sick all the time, my classes ended up keeping me busy up until the very last weeks before Christmas.
Add on the fact that I've spent more time travelling this month than I have in my entire life, I've had little time to write or post in the free time I have had - even just to go on the internet and write the smallest of messages announcing that I was still alive.
Nevertheless, I have managed to get quite a bit of writing done this week - travelling nine hours in a car will do that to you - and I will be posting up Chapter Four of TdtU, if anyone is still following it.
And that brings me to my next point. After the release of the HBP (which I won't be commenting on, because I'm still steaming), I decided to make TdtU HBP compliant. So anybody who is actually reading my fic might want to start from the first chapter again, because I've modified a few things here and there.
Well ... I hope everybody had an enjoyable Christmas and have a memorable New Year. I plan on having one, even though down here in Australia, we've just experienced our hottest day in December since 1939 (42.2 freaking degrees celsius!), and will probably have the same for New Years Eve. *sigh* Ah well.
Anywhoo, before I go, I just want to give a few thank you's to all the people who have reviewed over the past few months, and haven't received a reply back from me. I really do appreciate the feedback, and I did end up reading them all!

No update yet, I'm afraid.
But before anyone starts chucking rotten fruit my way, I just thought I'd say how overwhelmed I was by the amount of reviews I had for the first chapter alone! I never thought I'd get such a response and such a positive one at that, so I definitely can't resist thanking everyone who has either read, reviewed or friended me in the past few days!
Anyway, it has spurred me into writing more of Chapter Two of "To do the Unspeakable" (I think I'll call it TdtU for short) than I thought, and hopefully I'll be able to send it off to my beta by Friday night ... or Saturday morning. I really do want to get it finished before the sixth book comes out, and seeing as it is going to end up being at least 20 chapters long (averaging 5,000 words each chapter), I'm really going to have to get my butt into gear.
Okay well, I have to be going. Unfortunately, this week I haven't had as much time to be on the internet as I'd like, because my dear cousin is staying with us until Sunday, and has been hogging the phone and internet for his own stupid things. It's been really annoying, him taking over the whole house, but seeing as he's 27 years old, twice my size and still capable of holding me upside down by one leg ... I haven't opened my mouth to complain.

Believe it or not people, but I'm finally back!
I'm guessing the majority of people right now are probably reading this post on their friends pages right now and thinking "who the heck is this person and why are they on my flist?", but after an ungodly 4 month absence from my lj, I can't exactly blame any of you.
Needless to say, there have been reasons behind my non-existence these past few months - mainly real life and unfortunately a major lack of confidence in my ability to write pretty much anything!! - and for that I am really sorry for not posting anything until now. Amazingly it has only been the last two weeks that I've really been able to regain any sort of confidence in my writing.
That being said, in these past two weeks, I've been once again working on the stories I had promised to post up eons ago. So if moonglow_girl wouldn't mind continuing to beta for me :D, I'm hopefully going to be a lot more active around here from this point on!!
Lastly, I also intend on replying back to everyone who has either reviewed or just left a message on here in the time that I was gone! So if you get a reply that might not make any sense, please just humour me :D
Anyway, I hope all of you out there are well and enjoying life.

PS: By the way, over the months I did manage to acquire a new obsession. Obviously, I am a tad slower than the rest of the world (lol), but I discovered the US version of Queer as Folk and am now completely in love with it. So, if anybody is interested, I'd love to chat about the show, or about any recs for good Brian/Justin stories. Hell, maybe in the future, if all goes well, I may even write a few short fics on them too!!

Okay, first of all, I should give a belated THANKS to ms_mindfunk for giving me a GMail invite! So thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! Although I'm still working out all its little intricacies, I am so glad to now have an email account I won't have to constantly delete emails from!
I have to say though that I'm confused with my two hotmail accounts. Before, the two accounts had only 5MB storage, and now they both have 250MB? Would anyone know what I'm talking about, or am I for once extremely lucky and managed to get all this extra, free space? He he.
Onto other things. RL's gotten stuck into me again. I spent most of this weekend playing softball, which was surprisingly enjoyable, especially in one game, where I ended up hitting a 3 bagger that would have been a home run had the centre-fielder not been a 6'4ft girl from Africa, who could run really, really fast, lol. Oh and my new nickname is apparently "Show me the mony" *rolls eyes* That's the reason for the weird subject line.
Anyway, besides the softball, I'm also working hard on two uni assignments due in two weeks. I'm sure nobody's that interested, but one of my assignments is an ethnographical study of a scene or event, or basically anything in society that you would like to write about. I, surprise surprise, decided to write a small creative piece on homosexuality, so I'm actually getting some work done, and it's not the last night! *gasp* It's pretty hard though, because throughout the whole story, I'm writing it in first and second narrative, so that the reader won't know the couple I'm writing about are gay until the very last comment. *laughs* I always love tricking people until the very end ... or couldn't you already tell.
Also, just lastly, I wanted to say that despite all the RL life stuff, I am managing to fit in some time to work on all my fics. The sequel to Obscurity of Love, my Post-Hogwarts H/D fic and another novel-length sixth year H/D fic are all coming along and I also just finished doing a revised version of Chapter Three of Obscurity of Love, and sent that to my beta. Chapter Four shouldn't be too long either, so I hope you all enjoy it.
Okay well, I'm really tired, so I'll end it here. I've already ranted on more than I'm sure was necessary.

I'm sorry to have been gone for so long, but these past three weeks have been extremely hectic for me. I've had major assignments due, elections to vote in (well ... only one), softball practices and games to go to, birthdays to celebrate, and the anniversay of my grandfather's death.
So all in all, I've been really, really busy. In fact, I've only got some free time for the next few days as I still have two major assignments due soon. :(
Well anyway, onto my fics - I have been experiencing somewhat of a writer's block on my fics lately, but I decided to try something a little different. It's fairly long (but only a one-shot), so I'll post it now, justin a separate entry that's free from RL stuff.
So once again I'm really sorry. I hope that I'll have the time to catch up on my f-list soon!

I know I promised new fics but I didn't get a chance to finish the challenge fic or the other one today, because I ended up going shopping, and you all know how that goes if you're a female. You end up spending the whole day going shopping crazy and don't come home until you're practically kicked out or bought the shops out, lol. Well that was me today anyway. I had loads of stuff I'd been meaning to buy for ages, plus I had to drive my nanna to go grocery shopping too. Joy. ;)
Anyhow, the challenge and the first chappie of my new story is going to be finished by tomorrow night. That is my absolute deadline, and I'm not going to be any later than I already am.
Once again, I am so so sorry, lol. I'm such a pain I know. :(

I've lost my voice ... got a splitting headache ... but all that does not matter as one, it's self-inflicted and two, it's because I've spent half the night screaming my lungs out as Port Power won their way into the AFL Grand Final. Woot! Oh yes, baby!! (All those people not from Australia won't have a clue what I'm talking, so I apologise - you're just gonna have to ignore this rant completely.)
Anyway, this post won't be completely non-Harry Potter related. I just wanted to say that my entry for the Flick my Switch challenge is almost done, and I'll have it posted up by tomorrow night. The same goes for the first chapter of 'To do the unspeakable'. :D So expect many posts tomorrow.

Eek! I'm sorry I haven't been around for ages - I've been sick (still am), really busy with uni, and desperately trying not to throw my laptop out my window and onto the main road where it can be run over and run over and ...
Ahem. right. As you can probably tell, I'm also still having problems with my computer (as per usual). The virus is contained though at least, so I have no worry about going on the internet and stuff like that.
Anyway, holidays have just started for me for the next two weeks, so I'll be posting more often from now on. And as for writing any of my stories ... I haven't had the chance to just sit down and write in the past week or so, but I plan on remedying that tomorrow after I've had a nice sleep in. *sighs happily*
If darkasphodel reads this, I thought I'd say that I haven't abandoned my fic for your Flick my Switch challenge. I am still having a teensy bit of difficulty (I just can't get over it) writing the smut without turning red and giggling like I was back at high school in those sex ed classes - you know the ones where you had to practice placing condoms on an anatomically correct (well almost) Mr Banana. But be reassured you will be getting very, very detailed toy smut soon as I want me some sexual favours.
There is a bit of bad news I'm afraid for 'Obscurity of Love' fans though (however few there may be). I hate to say this but the sequel, Obscurity of Revenge isn't going too well at the moment. It's actually been put at the backburner for that Post-Hogwarts fic I've been going on and on about over the past few weeks. But the good news is I will be posting the first chapter for that story in the next few days. Here's a possible title and summary for it in case anybody's interested:
